I always end up hitting the Wall.
Sometimes, no matter how hard I love what I learn, I just feel stuck. Physically. It feels both like hitting a rock hard wall and some sticky substance in whitch I try to get out
For some time, I continue my learning routine but have no heart in it. Feeling that I make no progress, seeing no way to improve myself. Something holding me back or making me reset the few progress I made the weeks before.
The wall hit me many times before. When I tried learning Russian, Mandarin Chinese, and so many other subjects and even with friends… The little voice saying “It’s no use. Just drop it for today. Then why bother, just quit.”. So easy to let go.
Then, some time later, it vanishes. Motivation comes back, higher than ever, I can see some progress…
Knowing myself and knowing the wall quite well now, these are the tricks I set up in order to learn Japanese :
- take lessons in an association, and meet native speaker there
- build a learning different routines for weekdays and weekend
- listen to as much Japanese I can, in the streets, on my MP3 player,
- do not forget friends
Let see if it can get me out of the wall…
